Air Fryer Pork Chops

How to Make Air Fryer Pork Chops 

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp. Olive Oil
  • 1 ½ tsp. Black Pepper, grounded
  • 2 tbsp. Brown Sugar
  • ¼ tsp. Garlic Powder
  • 1 tbsp. Smoked Paprika
  • ½ tsp. Onion Powder
  • 1 ¼ tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Mustard, ground
  • 2 Pork Chops 1 ½ -inch thick, bone-in & center cut

Method of Preparation

  1. Start by preheating the air fryer at 400 ° F for 5 minutes. Tip: For preheating the air-fryer, you can either press the preheating button or you need to preheat it manually by heating it normally.
  2. Next, wash the chops properly and pat dry with paper towels.
  3. Then, take a small bowl and stir in all the remaining ingredients excluding the olive oil into it. Mix well.
  4. After that, apply the olive oil lightly over both sides of the pork chops and then coat it with the spice mix generously. Press slightly.
  5. Now, lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil and place the chops in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Tip: Make sure that the chops do not touch each other and the sides.
  6. Finally, cook it for 1o to 12 minutes while flipping it once after 6 minutes. Tip:  The internal temperature of the chops should be between 145 ° F and 155 ° F. At this point, the meat will have a golden brown exterior with a blush of pink in the middle portion. This means that the meat is cooked properly.
  7. Allow the meat to rest for three to five minutes before serving. Tip: This step is important as it allows the juices to settle.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy.

Storage: The pork chops stay good for up to three to four days in the refrigerator when kept in an air-tight container. You can also freeze them for up to two months in freezer-safe containers. Thaw them in the refrigerator overnight the day before. Or you can reheat them in the air fryer for 4 to 5 minutes at 400 ° F.

Air Fryer Pork Chops Tips

  • Serve it with sautéed greens like roasted broccoli, roasted asparagus, or sautéed spinach along with a dipping sauce. Or you can pair it with spuds like roasted boiled potatoes. Or you can have it on top of rice and grains.
  • You can use boneless pork chops also.
  • You can make the pork chops in the oven and instant pot. In the oven, you would need to cook for 7 to 8 minutes at 400 ° F.
  • If you prefer, you can add parmesan cheese to the seasoning mix for better flavor and texture.

  • While cooking the meat, make sure not to stack the meat, as it will obstruct the food to be cooked properly.
  • Make sure to not overcook the meat as it will then become dry and tough.
  • If you prefer to make it low-carb, skip the brown sugar.
  • If you want crunchier and yet softer meat, you can dip it in the buttermilk.
  • Cook for 20 minutes if you want it crispier.

For best results, follow the recipe as it is. However, some common substitutes would work well in this recipe. They are:

  • Instead of smoked paprika, you can use paprika or 1 ½ tsp. of sweet paprika.

Is it possible to use frozen chops?

To make sure it is fully cooked, it is better to use the chops which have been defrosted and are at room temperature. This way the meat will be cooked evenly from all sides. But then, it is possible to use frozen chops.
